About Us

Our vision is to create equitable access to preventative nutrition services across the country

The leading causes of death in the United States—heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer—are directly linked to poor dietary intake. Low income families are particularly vulnerable to the consequences of poor nutrition as a lack of access to nutritious foods and vital education eventually takes its toll.

The vast majority of insurance companies fail to cover prevention-focused nutrition counseling, with the standard coverage being a single counseling session with a registered dietitian per year. Some sessions with a dietitian are covered once a disease diagnosis has been made. However, we find that many low-income individuals struggle to afford the co-pays involved.

Nutrition for All’s goal is to increase access to nutrition counseling by working directly with families and communities in need. Short term classes and pop-up educational events are well intentioned; however the reality is that real change comes from consistent, highly personalized education.

The registered dietitians at Nutrition for All sit with each and every client, identify challenges to overcome, and set realistic goals that will transform into sustainable habits. Access to nutrition counseling is unlimited until both the client and dietitian feel ready to close the counseling relationship.

Through our partnerships, we strive to reduce the prevalence of preventable disease, decrease per capita cost of healthcare, and strengthen the current healthcare reform movement by providing invaluable data on the impact of preventive nutrition.
